Chapel

Every Wednesday before 11:00 am, students, faculty, and staff can be seen filing into the uniquely designed copper-top roofed Provance Memorial Chapel for 30 minutes of worship music and studying God’s holy word.

Campus Pastor R. Lee Moore schedules inspirational ministers to educate and fill the building with the holy spirit.  Oakland City University President, Dr. Ron Dempsey, has advised faculty and staff to put their daily routine and duties away and to be inspired and reinvigorated by the experience at Chapel.

On August 16th, with a standing-room-only crowd, the service was kicked off with rousing worship music followed by Oakland City’s McCullough Grove Baptist Church pastor, Jake Robinson. Robinson provided a message requiring the need to cultivate one’s inner perspective on faith and how to examine the burden and sinfulness of sin.

In addition to the weekly chapel service, Oakland City University also offers a variety of ways to be actively involved in developing a closer relationship with Christ.  Pastor Moore will meet with any student, faculty, and/or staff for prayer and/or Biblical counseling.
