2024 Alumni Luncheon & Awards

The Alumni Board invites you to the annual Alumni Luncheon on Saturday, June 1st 2024 in the student life center cafeteria at 11:00 am CT. This year's luncheon honors the classes of 1999 and 1974. All OCU/OCC alumni are invited to attend this special luncheon dedicated to our alumni. RSVP Now by May 18th by calling the Alumni Office at 812-749-1228 or email [email protected] 

In addition to the luncheon, the Alumni Board is also accepting nominations for their slate of annual awards. The awards are: 

  1.  Alumnus Of The Year - This award, given annually, recognizes an Oakland City University alumnus who has distinguished themself not only in their chosen profession, but also in civic, philanthropic, community, and church activities. The total person is considered. This is the highest honor given by the Alumni Association. 
  2. Special Achievement Award - This award is given at the discretion of the Alumni Board and may or may not be given each year. It is designed to recognize the accomplishments of a person who has excelled in their chosen profession and does not necessarily consider their civic and church activities. 
  3. Special Service Award - This award is given at the discretion of the Alumni Board, and may or may not be given each year. It is designed to recognize individuals who have given special and/or lengthy service to Oakland City University.  It is awarded by the board and usually given as a surprise. 
  4. True Blue Mighty Oak Award - The purpose of this award is to recognize those who love, support, honor, and bring positive attention to Oakland City University. The ultimate goal of this award is to recognize those who have contributed to OCU in a positive way that may or may not qualify for other awards presented by the Alumni Relations Office. Coupled with this goal, is the intent that honoring individuals and bringing them to campus gives us the opportunity to promote to true mission of Oakland City University. 
  5. Matador Award - This award, first instituted in 2008, is a Director's Choice Award. It may or may not be given annually to an individual that has contributed to Oakland City University in a unique way by "taking the bull by the horns and getting the job done." It is usually given as a surprise to the recipient.
