Historic GameDay Experience

On September 21st, Oakland City University held the first college football game in Evansville Indiana since 1997. The Mighty Oaks took on Midway University at Benajmin Bosse High School’s Enlow Feild.  Before the historic game, spectators enjoyed the first ever GameDay Experience in Evansville. Sports fans enjoyed Ziplines, food trucks, rock climbing walls, and more fun activities.

Just before kickoff, Big Brothers Big Sisters presented the first football to midfield. Big Brothers Big Sisters also flipped the coin for the coin toss. The nonprofit was also honored at halftime with an exclusive interview with Ryan Scott, the executive director.

The Mighty Oaks were led onto the field by President Dempsey riding in an OCU themed Golf Cart. Flags were waved as the team entered the field and fired up the crowd. After a fierce game, the Mighty Oaks achieved their first win in program history 14-0.
